Member Benefits

HACHE is an all-volunteer organization.  It is an organization designed to support home educating families through a variety of activities. When you belong to HACHE, you receive exclusive benefits of activities and reduced prices for members for a number of activities.

  • Art and Talent Night:  Show off your child’s talent in this annual winter show.  Bring their artwork, have them sing a song, play a musical instrument and enjoy their baking talents.
  • Book-It Program:  Sponsored by Pizza Hut, learn about the early registration and how to incentivize your children with their very own free mini pizza.
  • Christmas plates:  HACHE members children are given the opportunity to make keepsake plates every November.  Watch the newsletter for more details.
  • Email Tree:  Communication is the key to success and the HACHE email tree is vital to disseminate information on a timely basis.  Members may use this benefit to sell curriculum, ask questions or promote classes.  Often times, interesting opportunities are offered to members using the Email Tree.
  • Field Trips:  Enjoy learning about the Helena area and various activities with hands on events planned by our members.
  • Geography Bee:  Annually, fourth graders and up can participate in this event where they test their knowledge of America and the world.  Winners advance to the higher level.
  • HACHE Picnics:  Twice a year, members are invited to a potluck picnic to meet socialize in a relaxing atmosphere.  These picnics also offer members with businesses an opportunity to showcase their products to other members.  Bring your table and your products and feel free to sell away.
  • HACHE Ski Days:  Discounted ski days in fellowship with your homeschooling friends at Great Divide are organized several days in the winter.  Sign up early as there is a limit.
  • Helena area Home School Athletic Association:  For 5th grade and up, HACHE members enjoy a traveling Volleyball team and a travelling Basketball  team and compete in the Small Schools league. There is grade school teams, Junior Varsity and Varsity teams.
  • Home School Library: Hundreds of books are available for checking out at the Liberty Baptist Church Home School Library.  A copy of the current catalog is in this packet.
  • Legislative Issues:  Biannually, the Montana Legislature meets.  Keep informed on issues that affect home schooling by being involved in the email tree.  Learn how to testify, or have your children become active citizens in the state government.
  • Membership Directory:  Make connections with fellow home schoolers with the member only directory.
  • Membership Newsletters:  Enjoy 9 months of newsletters letting you know the latest happenings, highlight your students successes and promote your businesses to home schooling families.
  • Mentorships:  If you are new to home schooling and are in need of talking to an experienced Home Schooling family, contact the mentorship coordinator to set you up. If you have been blessed by home schooling and are willing to share your wisdom with another family, please sign up to be a mentor.
  • New and Used Curriculum Fair:  Each Spring, the HACHE Steering Committee organizes a vendor fair where members can buy, sell or trade curriculum.  To see the books hands on, or to talk to someone about the products is a huge benefit before you jump right into a new curriculum.
  • School Pictures:  Send out a school photo to family and friends. Just because you home school doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy watching your kids grow each year.
  • Science Fair:  Annually, children come up with experiments to solve problems in the world.  It is a good opportunity to think analytically, creatively and to compete in a low key environment.  HACHE members enjoy a potluck dinner and reduced entry fee.
  • Spelling Bee:  This annual winter event is a fun way to show off your children’s’ phonetics skills, and advance to the county spelling bee.
  • Steering Committee:  The Steering Committee consists of a Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, and At-Large members who oversee the events. The members are elected each spring and per the bylaws, must have home schooling for at least a year.  This is a great way to serve your fellow home schoolers.
  • Track Meet:  In May, the Small Schools Athletic Association invite HACHE members to compete in track events.  HACHE members enjoy a reduced price for entering competitions.
  • Vendor tables: At every event, members with businesses are offered the opportunity to showcase their products.  Be sure to contact the organizer so that we have enough tables for you.
